What surprised you about what happened in this chapter?
Now that you know about Solomon, reflect back on the previous portions of the book. What details actually foreshadowed what happened at the concert? BE SPECIFIC!

solomon lewis first started crying when Alex started playing the guitar and then he knew some of the songs and the rythem to the music. He also would have told him that he stunk on ice if he didn't like it.
I think Solomon once played in a jazz band in high school or in collage.
I was really suprised that Solomon could play the guitar like that. I didnt think that he played any kind of insturment but if he did i never would have thought that it would have been the guitar. Well now i kind of understand why Solomon always wanted ALex to bring that guitar and play it for him. He wanted to listen and help him get better by practicing it all the time. Since practice makes perfect.
I think Solomon Lewis has a past with jazz, and I think he has had a bad past with it.
I think that Solomon obviously has played the guitar before and I think that might have some thing to do with why he always almost starts to cry when Alex plays the guitar.
I could pretty much tell earlier in the book Sol was a musical genius. Earlier, while Alex was playing for Sol, Sol started crying. At that point I thought to myself, is Sol crying maybe because he used to be this awesome, fantastic music artist in his prime and was wishing he was in his younger days when he had everything going his way. Also, when Sol started telling Alex what type of things he needed to do in order to set up the concert at the N.H. Sol must have been in a band and played in some concerts when he was younger.
I was suprised that Sol had the courage to get on the stage and play the guitar. I think Alex did a great job, and Annette and Steven are amazing musicians. Sol was emotional when he heard the song alex played earlier in the book. Sol decided to get up and play. I think Sol was a musician, or at least in a band twenty seven years ago and three months. I think Sol will die later in the book
It supprised me when solomom started crying because i thought sol was a mean type of person.
The fact on howmuch Sol loved jazz and the fact when Alex plaed the song he nearly cried, and wow! this chapter revealed a whole bunch about Sol!!!
I think that Solomon was maybe in a jazz band in high school... I think that when he kept urging Alex to come play for him he wanted Alex to practice, practice, practice so that he could be like Sol when he grows up.. I think Sol wants someone to represent who he was when he was Alex's age. Also I think he was crying because he was so excited that Alex could play so good and Sol could "trust him" and was proud to have Alex representing who he was.
what suprised me was that Solomon actually got up and played the gutiar... the foreshadow to this was when Alex was playing for him and he got emotional and im guessing that brought him back to when he used to play
I think that the guitar reminds him of his daughter for some reasons or mabey just some songs remind him of her because he cries a lot when Alex plays the guitar, while not a lot but it is the only time he cries. He might have mest up in his life somewhere because he gets really mad at Alex. I kinda guest that Sol might have played an instrument because he was snapping the beat and telling Alex to slow down. I was suprised he still could if he hadn't played for that long and that he was that good.
What suprised me in this chapter was Solomon playong Alex's Tele so well! The hints and clues that gave this away was when Alex brought his gutair and played for Solomon.
If im not mistaking ethier and I read it right Laurie kissing Alex.
I was surprised that Sol actually got up on stage and played, but then again not to surprised. When it said that Sol loved listening to Alex play and told him he could play for him anytime he wanted, that meant Sol really liked to listen to music. Also he played it when he was younger, probably because it said that Sol cried a little, that says that Sol was probably remembering when he played and how much he loved it and missed playing. I think that Sol is happy that Alex has found an interest in music, just like he had at one time in his life.
I think that Solomon had a flashback, and thought about some memories that he had with the songs Alex was playing, or because he used to play the guitar too, it seemed like some of the songs Alex played Solomon like, and some he cried so i think Sol had some kind of past with music or something.
i think sol was a famous guitar player then something bad happened while he was playing his guitar and now he is sad or mak about it
I think solomon played in a jazz band for a long period of time, and Alex playing jazz reminded him of what he did.
My class was talking over a sheet today during class and mentioned that maybe the judge that placed Alex with Solomon is Sol's daughter. This could be true, I believe it is true anyway. The way both Solomon and the judge do not like drunk driving, and that the judge would not come to the concert at the nursing home could give away some kind of clue that there is a family somewhere out there. A family that may take a while to be reunited happily.
This chapter suprised me when Solomon took over Alex's concert and played really well. I kind of knew though that Solomon played jazz when he was younger or something because before, when Alex played, Solomon became so emotional like it was making him remember something.
well sol knew alot of the songs and rythems, and he wanted to hear alex play every time that alex went to the home

Sol apperently had not played the quitar sense his wife died while driving. So Alex probably appreciated what he had done for sol and the nursing home.
I think the first time Alex played guitar Sol knew the songs and when Sol knew all the equiment Alex would need told me Sol knew a thing or two about Alex.

I think that because Solomon played at alex's concert, that brought up the whole conversation about his past, and i think's that's what made solomon, solomon.
I was suprised that Sol got on stage and played. The events that foreshadowed this is that he actually new when Alex hit the wrong notes and he cried about the song Alex played. And the fact that Sol was a prankster registered something in my mind when Sol asked Alex to go get his 2nd pair of glasses
It dose not surprise me because Sol was crying when Alex first played and Sol is always full of cool tricks.

This chapter was a major surprise for me that actually made me sad inside. This chapter reflected on why Sol yelled at Alex at the party. But I have a prediction... I think that Sol probily started smoking because he was sad that he had let his wife go and die...
Whenever Alex played the guitar for Solomon, he either started to tear up, or he was silent with his eyes closed. I finally came with a reasoning to this. I think it is because Sol used to always play guitar and he was so famous until his wife's accident, then he stopped and hearing a young person starting to play that maybe reminded him of the times he had while he still played.
I think sol might have had an experence like alex and also played in a jazz band once.
I was was suprise that Sol could play but I after seeing that he could I think that WOW Sol knew that Alex liked music so why didnt her tell Alex about his past with music?
solomon really liked it when alex played but sol just wanted to get uop there and feel young again and show everybody what he can do too.
Alex was trying to be a good sport to go up to Sol's room to get his glasses but i think that Sol really wanted to play Alex's guitar because he hadn't played in so long.

when Sol told alex to go get his other glasses and was telling him that he needed them and was freaking out and wouldnt let a nurse of something get the galsses for him you kinda knew something was up
I was very surprised when Sol got up and played, i figured that some day he'd privetly play for alex but not like that. From the fact that Sol had a deep attachment to music and was familier with some of the tunes and with some of the composers i figured that he had a history in music
I think Solomon was touched by Alexs playing and it reminded him of a song he liked when he was young.
I was very suprised to find that Solomon played the guitar and was very good at it. I think it might have had something to do with why Sol almost breaks out crying every time Alex plays for him.

I was shocked that Sol really played the guitar at the concert.Honestly I think that Soloman must have had some type of experience with playing the guitar.Such as maybe he played in a jazz band too when he was younger.
i think that some events that foreshadowed the concert are when alex was playing the guitar and sol was crying. and when heknew the tempos and said that they were a little faster.....plus with all of the pranks tat he plays he should have know that it was a prank.

In this chapter, when Sol took over playing guitar it didn't suprise me because I thought that was probably going to happen; however when he did, the whole book started to make sense. Earlier in the book Sol would cry during songs Alex played on his guitar and he knew so much about staging concerts and playing. This was forshadowing for the event where Sol Plays guitar for everyone.
I knew right away when Sol was crying when he heard Alex play the guitar that He had a past with music.I didnt expect him to be excelent though.

sol tricked alex into going and finding his glasses when he really want to show him that he played the guitar. sol was almost crying when alex was playing so he likes what alex has been doing for him. he didnt tell because he wanted alex to learn to move forward in eveything

I think that maybe Sol liking it so much when Alex played for him as a froeshadow about Sol(that he used to play). I think its great that he isn't just one of those old men that have nothing interesting in their past. Clearly that is not the case.
i think alex playing the guitar and the type of music reminds sol about his daughter or something important that happend in his past.
