An avid Fuji Velvia shooter for years, I finally purchased my first digital camera, a Canon 20D, in January of 2005. I think Alex's Mom is a parent who cares for Alex but doesn't like it when he does bad stuff.
I think Alex is a really nice lady, but she wants the best for her kid and hates to see him hurt. Also i think she is not very sympothetic and thinks that her words are going to "cure Alex."

So she is trying to tell him that she loves him and is glad he is ok but what he did was stupid and hopes it will never happen again. Also she is very involved in things. Alex's punishment doesn't just affect Alex its affects her as well. She is the one that has to pick him up and take him to school, so it affects her as well. Also she still has some issues that her and Alex's dad need to work out.

i think alexs mom really cares bout him...though she did say goo wen he hit his head i think it was because she wanted him remeber wat he did and the stupid mistke he made.

I think that she can also be kind of hurtful with the way she talks to Alex even though he did do something bad yelling and screaming at him isnt going to make the whole thing go away.
i think alex's mom is under a lot of stress and has plenty reason to be upset, with an unloyal husband and now her son goes and almost ends his life. i think when she shows how upset she is it really shows how much she cares.

I think Alex's mother is caring but she tries her best to show him a little discipline because she wants to try her best to help him learn his leson.

Alex's mom is a confusing character.. I started out thinking she was very mean. then I thought she was nice. And now I think she is greedy. In the book it says that she ungrounded Alex JUST so he could go get her a Christmas peresent... I don't know about you but this seems pretty selfish to me!

I think Alex's mom is making a bad choice getting together agian with his dad because he is probely going to leave once agian. Alex's mom is really strange because she changes moods very often and makes it hard for alex to even stay in the house. She also seems to be careful around alex because she does not want alex to know about alex's dad and so alex does not do anything stupid to get him in any more trouble than he is.

I think Alex's mom is just one of those moms that need some help raising her child as a single mom. If she thinks one kid is hard she should try teen twins and a nine-year-old. The point is that no matter how hard it seems at times, it will always work out somehow.

I do NOT like Alex's mom AT ALL anymore.. now yes my opinion could change again before the end of the book... but right now I think she is so desperate to have a boyfriend that she would go to all extreems to do so... I MEAN SERIOUSLY!!! one minute she is sitting there SCREAMING at Alex's dad and the next she brings him home at 2 AM!!!! WHAT THE HECK!!!... all I can say is if I were Alex (which I'm not.. but if I were) I would be packin' up my stuff and headin' out... I don't know to where... but somewhere far, far away where I wouldn't have to interact with those to "parents" any longer!!!
I think that Alex's mom is making a mistake going back with his dad so soon. He may be trying to change but he hasnt completly changed yet.

I believe she isn't sure she likes what is going on but she wants to see what happens and is hoping for the best to come out of what has happend. More than anything, I think she is looking for an explanation.
As the story has progressed this is one of the charcters who has tremendously changed. In addition, to what I said last time Alex's mom is very undecied because she has gotten back with Alex's dad after Alex had helped her through her previous struggles with Alex's dad and I'm sure another fight will happen at some point.

I think Alex's mom is just as confused as any mom would be. There is no way to tell that her taking Alex's dad back and I got even more confused when his dad said it wasn't just the teacher thing when he left. There are way to many misteries in this book.

So, Mom is not a great person to have a relationship with. However, they do seem to be getting back together.

I still think alex's mom is under a lot of stress. Her many mood swings such as when she found out alex's dad set up the band to play their song she was mad then happy. This happens a lot to mothers under much stress such as her current situation they tend to not know what to do with their emotions. One minute she's mad at alex the next she's not one night she's yelling at alex's dad the next she's bringing him home. I think if things settle down we'll see her normall side

Alex's mom starts getting confused as the story progresses. She's confused to why Alex would drink and drive, why Alex is now caring for Sol, why she's back with Alex's father, I'm sure she'll be confused about Alex and Laurie soon but she's still stood next both of them this whole time.
I think that Alex's mom is so desperate that she would get with any guy and Alex's dad is the only one who would want her because he, too, is very desperate to have a woman/girlfriend. But, at the same time I wonder if they are playing a trick on Alex to see how he will handle it and see if he will make another bad decision like he did when they first split up. I think Alex's mom is really confused. If there was a reason for her to divorce her husband then how is that reason not still there. Does she even care what Alex thinks? If them divorcing caused him to drink and drive in such an emotional state shouldn't she be thinking about what this will do to him? She has to be thinking that he is way confused.
