An avid Fuji Velvia shooter for years, I finally purchased my first digital camera, a Canon 20D, in January of 2005. I think Alex's dad is a person who is not understanding. I think he only wants to accept his son's greatnesses.. but never his flaws. i wonder if Alex's dad has experienced similar things with drinking and driving?
I think Alex's dad is very selfish. He only cares about himself and the third grade teacher. In the book it said that Alex would be made somebody else's problem. So right there it tells you that his dad doesn't want to deal with problems and wants to put the responabilty on someone else all the time. Also he's not that caring and honest if he leaves Alex's mother for another women.

I think Alex's dad is not vey understanding and he doesn't seem to care much of what Alex does with his life.

I think Alex's is not the best father in the world to have. He doesn't understand anything about a person being human. He always looks to his son being the perfect human being in the world and never notices the flaws of his sons actions. This father of Alex's really does not seem like he was ready to become a parent. Maybe some parenting classes?
I dont like Alex's dad at all. He doesnt claim his own mistakes and he doesnt do anything really about ALex's situation but blame his mom for leaving alcohol in the cupboards.He's very selfish and i dont like him at all....It makes it even worse that he is cheating on his wife.
I think Alex's dad does not love Alex that much because even Alex said that he doesn't want anything to do with Alex and he always makes Alex somebody elses problem. I think his dad only cares about himself and nobody else. He left Alex's mom for no reason except that he didn't her much more. He's a selfish dad, and that's not good.

I think Alex's dad is irresponsible, i think he cares about himself and not his family, and if Alex does something right he just expects it, but if Alex does something wrong like drinking and driving, he doesn't want anything to do with it, so he blames it on someone else, or makes it someone else's problem, like blaming Alex's mom for the incident that Alex did.

Alex's Dad is a irresponible hypocrit who needs to be tought a lesson. First he has a talk to alex allllllll about responisbility and what does he do, he goes and has a good old time with his third grade teacher which makes alex angry. WHAT A HYPOCRIT he is the one who needs the responibility talk.
Alex's dad is like Judge Judy.. he hasn't changed in the last few chapters. I still think that he is selfish. Also I think that he wants to get back in touch with Alex, but not that bad. If he really wanted to talk to Alex again he would come to his house and contact Alex's mom (no matter how much they hated eachother!!!) I think if he cared "that" much.. he wouldn't just call ... he really isn't trying as hard as it seems... I wonder if throughout the book he will realize that he really does have a good kid who just made a bad choice... and will he regret not being as nice to Alex as he should have been??

Alex's dad has a different story then Alex's mom. He is moving. "So he says." However he actually does care about him. At the beginning of the book it didn't really seem like he cared much.
I think Alex's Dad is messed up because why would a dad leave their son to go start a new life.

I think Alex’s dad is complicated to say the least he must care a little bit at least because he gave him a whole speech on why what he did was wrong in the hospital. It is clear the Alex would see his father as a bad guy because he left him and his mom but he could have had other reasons other than the one that has been shown. So to sum things up I think that Alex’s dad cares about his son but dose not know how to show it properly.
I think Alex's dad is insecure with his feelings right now and I believe that is what lead him to become a "bad" father, in other words he didn't get involved with his son when him and Alex's mom seperated. Slowely Alex's dad was drifting from his relationship with his son. Now instead of taking responsibility for his actions, he is running away.

I think that Alex's dad is starting to care a little bit more than he used to. He still isnt very resposible. But i think that he is working on it and trying to be a better dad.
I think Alex's dad really wants to be a good father he just doesn't know how because he always tries be there for Alex but just doesn't do it the right way.

And in the begining his life wasn't going so well so he kind of forgot all about Alex and just wanted everything to be good and easy.
