- An 8th grade English teacher for the past 16 years, my interest in photography began in my early teens. An avid Fuji Velvia shooter for years, I finally purchased my first digital camera, a Canon 20D, in January of 2005. I started my photography business on the side in 2004, and it has grown into a second career. I love how my teaching profession and photography business work so seamlessly together. Today, I find myself shooting in excess of 100,000 images a year, including wedding imagery, senior and family portrait work, sports team and action shots, and my true passion, landscape and wildife. I think that Alex is still a good kid because he is in jazz band and there is nothing wrong with that. Alex has never drunk and drove before so whats the matter?
I think kid's in court should all be treated the same, because if they are in court, they are not really a good kid... but of course, they could of done a stupid mistake, and sometimes it wasn't their fault, but they should all be treated the same(harsh)
I believe that if it's i first offense they should be let off easier than if they've done it several times.
I think that all kids shouldn't be treated the same because of the fat some have a better history and the "bad" kids are known for doing bad things so they've robley been to court before.
I think that "good" kids and "bad" kids should be tried just the same because if you do something wrong it shouldn't matter whether you are a "good" kid or a "bad" kid...
I do not think that they should be treated diffrently...i mean they are good kids they just made some bad mistakes....nobodys perfect...
oh i think that kids should be treated the same way in court it doesnt matter if they are good or bad they did a crime so they shud pay the price thats all im saying but if a kid did somthing uber bad than i wud totally put a little more disaplint on them
i think that good kids so not be treated the same way bad kids are treated. because why get treated badly if you didn't doing anything bad? so thats why good kids shouldn't be treated like bad kids.
I think it doesnt matter. If a "good" kid does what a "bad" kid does they should get the same punishment. But if a "bad" or "good" kid does a worse crime than the other of course the punishments should be different.
I think that "good" kids should be treated the same because it isnt fair to a "bad" kid if they do the same thing and get punished for it more than the "good" kid. "Good" kids arent always good!!!
i liked this chapter because i probly would have done the same thing. and he was right it is a very nervous situation when ur goin to court. it feels like everything he said.
Well, I would consider other peoples responses. However, there appears to be none, and I asked Nathan if I was blogging in the right one and he said that there appeared to be no responses for when he went into blog either. So, I can't really respond to others. Anyway, "good" and "bad" kids aren't really supposed to be judged in the court of how bad their crime is or anything. The court's system shouldn't judge any certain someone at all. So, everybody, regarding body art, piercings, or just normality, should be treated all the same in court. It would just be unfair in a trial for some person to be hated by all of the court and have a bad chance of being proved not guilty in their trial. Whereas a person who would be respected or liked by certain people in the jury who might have a good chance of being not guilty easily. So, there should be no difference in how a person should be treated in court.

i think he should not be punished with jail because he is not a bad kid and if everyone was treated the same everyone would have to go to jail if they even came into the court room
i think good kids should be treated differently than bad kids or anyone who came to the court room would have to go to jail because they didnt even discuss his issue and let Alex or his mom have a say in anything that would happen
TO me good kids should get treated a little better than bad kids since they did nothing wrong in the first place. Bad kids need o be disciplined to learn a lesson.
Although I sortof have mixed feelings... I overall do think that good kids should be treated differently than bad kids. For instance, if there is a kid who is very responsible and has many responsibilities, they probably made just a bad choice and they will try to fix it., and know without a punnishment that they need to change. So they shouldn't be "rewarded" with a high punnishment. However, if there is a high school drop out and they have been in trouble before, they probably are considered a "bad kid" and they more than likely will not try to make a change and act differently and will probably get in trouble again. So, the bad kids should get a BIG punnishment so they don't end up in the court room again.
well to me a good kid is a good kid.That to me means being responsible. But there are other type of.There are more then one "bad" people.
I think kids that have only done a crime once should not be punished very badly. Maybe like community service or working for a charity. Alex is an example of one of these kids. Kids that have done crimes a lot of times should be like taken to a boys or girls school and also have community service. These two types of kids should be treated differently in court because of how many times they have committed a crime
I think that "good" kids and "bad" kids should be treated the same because even though Alex got caught for what he did, he still should learn his lesson, so he won't ever do it again.
I think kids in court should be treated by how ever many offenses they have already. Because some people just might be starting to acting "bad."
i think it should depend on if they have done bad things before on how they are treated in court but they shouldnt let someone off really easy just because its their first time getting in trouble.

I believe that good kids and bad kids should be treated as equals. If a good kid was treated better than a bad kid there could be a revolt. Kids should just be treated fairly and honestly in the court of law. But some times it also depends on what has happened and why they are there.
i think good kids should be treated the same as bad kids as far as their first offense goes. they did brake the law and should be punished.
I think that the "good" kids should be treated the same as the "bad kids" because then you can find out what is really happening without the kids getting all confused why they get treated different.
NO they should not be treated differently because if they are both in court, then they both did something wrong, then they are both "bad" kids.

i really think that even though all kids make mistakes they should also be punished so they learn from the mistakes and become more smart on what to do next time. So i do think that a bad kid should be treated differently for the specific reason. besides why should get a good kid be treated like a bad kid does when they didnt do anything?
I think they should be treated different becase bad kids know what they are doing is wrong but they still do it. Good kids could have just make a mistake and after they got in trouble they knew it was wrong.
I think that Alex needs punished but not extremly as if he has killed someone. Community service i think is neccasary for his situation. think about it. If EVERY underage drinker was caught in the united states, imagine how many people u would see each day doing communtity service.
I believe that it doesn't matter wether the kid is good or bad. if the kid is in court, he obviously did something bad and needs to be taught a lesson.

if a "good kid" is only in there once like Alex he should get a little brake because he made one mistake (so does everyone)..but he should still get a punishment!

I think that "good" kids should be treated differently than "bad" kids. For one the "bad" kids probably have already been to court since they are bad, and know what their punishment would be. But then again if "good" kids did something really bad then they should be treated like a "bad" kid. So it depends on what the kid did and how bad they did something.
I think if your in court than all kids should be treated the same. I mean sometimes we all make mistakes and do bad things. But still you made the choice to do that.

I think that all kids should be treated the same even in they are considered "good" kids because who decides who "good" kids are and who "bad" kids are? The court system shouln't be based off of people's opinions.
i think that the judges should not treat us bad kids any different because were not really bad we just like to have fun. stoopid things are pretty fun
i think "good" kids should be treated differently then the "bad" kids because usually "good" kids are more responsible for their mistakes and learn from them... and "bad" kids might thing, "oh its just another day in court" so therefore i think they should be treated differently
I think that they should get treated almost the same punishment but for different time periods and/or not as hard or time consuming.

I think that all kids in court should be treated the same based on the curcamstanices. There isnt usaly a "good" kid in court but their could be if you just happended to be in the wrong spot at the wrong time and still you should be treated and questioned like everyother kid that is sent to court.

I think no matter who the kid is they all need to be treated the same because most of them will learn from they're mistakes, but if they reapetiously make a mistake then the punishment needs to be different so they will learn.

Yes and fno because if they never did anything wrong they should be given a little slack depending on how bad that something was. No because they did do something wrong and they should be punished for it.

I think that no matter what you did you should be treated the same way in court because if they give a good kid a break then they'er gonna think the=at its ok to get in trouble and they'll be let off the hook the next time it happens.If you want to get a point across a kid then you need to scare the kid and meake him understand that they did something wrong and how bad it could have been.

i think that just because alex wanted to talk to his dad and at the time got drunk and drove and could have killed himself and someone else, doesn't mean he's a bad kid. everyone makes mistakes and he has to learn from his mistake. If the nicest, sweetest, most hard working, good kid in the world, got drunk from their parents divorce and drove would they be a bad kid, NO. They are still the nice, sweet, hard working, good kid that they were before. Wheather their a good kid or not they should still have the same consequenses.
I think Alex is a good kid. Just because he makes one mistake doesn't mean he's a bad kid everyone makes them. You can't base he is good or bad on one action he makes. He should be treated the same as anyone else for what he did.

Well the good kid bad kid being treated differently in court is more personal than any thing because every one has a different definition of what is good and what is bad. I think that a kid who has been in court a lot of times for the same thing should have a harsher punishment than a kid who has been in court one time.
I believe that Alex is a good kid however he needs to think before he does things. Also i think that alex should be punished for what he did however when he has learned his lesson he should be taken off of probation.
