- An 8th grade English teacher for the past 16 years, my interest in photography began in my early teens. An avid Fuji Velvia shooter for years, I finally purchased my first digital camera, a Canon 20D, in January of 2005. I started my photography business on the side in 2004, and it has grown into a second career. I love how my teaching profession and photography business work so seamlessly together. Today, I find myself shooting in excess of 100,000 images a year, including wedding imagery, senior and family portrait work, sports team and action shots, and my true passion, landscape and wildife. I'm actually doing what I always dreamed and I feel totally blessed.

If i was Alex i would rather face laurie than his mother because laurie hasnt hit him yet unlike his mother and seems to care about alexs condition more than his mother.
i think it would be easier to face laurie because she was probably a little more underastanding then alexs mother...ya she was ma but i think she was still more understanding....and once she heard his story she probably understood more....
I rather face Alex's mother, because out of all that, he only got grounded untill his court day, and Laurie yells at Alex, and it seems Laurie cares about his just a little bit more than Alex's mom.
I think that he would rather face laurie because she is standing on his toe unlike his mom that hit him in the hospital and when his head hurt she said"GOOD" at his pain and laurie is more of a friend so she cares aobut the condition that alex is in.
If i was Alex i would rather face laurie because it would be eaiser to talk to her about things they seem closer then Alex and his mom.
i would want to face Laurie because she acted like she cared for him and stuck up for him.
I think that i would rather face Laurie. Just because she cant punish him for the crime that he commited and his mother can..even though Laurie has a big mouth and could probably beat Alex up...
i think this chapter was ok i love how he tought him self how to play the guitar thats so so cool but the punishment for the month was kinda harsh.......
I would rather face Laurie, because she could be more understanding. And its kind of funny what laurie says. and Alexs mom doesnt trust alex anymore so i would face laurie instead of alexs mom.
I think I would face hes mom because hses nicer.
i would have to say his mom because she seems calm altough she is very observant... i wouldn't want to face laurie that much because she is someone who could beat anyone up if she really wanted to!
I think if I were Alex i would rather face Laurie. I would rather do this because in the book it says that Alex's mother hit him and said it was good when Alex had a horrible head ache. Also, I always think it is easier to face a friend than a parent because usally (not always) friends are more understanding and they help you through things... even if they BLOW UP on you first! I think later in the story Laurie will become a little more understanding after Alex gets through court and gets his sentence.
If I was Alex I'm not sure I would like to face ethier because I would rather be "confiened" within myself while try and figure out my problem because I dont care who it is if I dont want them to know my personal business they I wont tell ANYONE (that's why I dont ask others questions about personal matters, if they want to tell me they will), but if I had to choose one to tell would be Laurie because close friends seem to be more understanding about teen realted problems than parents.
His mom because she actually has feelings for Alex, and she also trusts him in some of his decisions. Laurie on the other hand is just like,"Alex you're so stupid, you don't know everything, that's such a stupid idea, that idea will never work, you're a moron." She says a lot of things that just make Alex feel worse about all of his actions and especially the car crash
I would rather face Alex's friend Laurie because even though Laurie was angry at Alex she'll probably understand and forgive him easier, because Alex's mother has already given him harsh punishments unlike Laurie because she can't, his mother will forgive him but probably not right away, not until he obeys her commands, and promises not to do anything like that again.
I think I would rather face Laurie because she would probably be less harsh on Alex because they're friends.
if i were Alex i would rather be faced by Laurie because she would still be a friend.
I think i would if i was in Alexs spot i would rather face laurie is best friend laurie cant ground him or punish him at all.

i think i would wont to face his mom becarse his mom will always love him... she has no choice! but on the other hand laurie doesent she could stop being his friend at anytime!! and for the mom it almost seems like she understands but she still has to punish alex to be a good parent.
i would much rather face my mom. ya laurie seems very caring and has been his freind for a long time..but your mom has known you your whole life and you have known her your whole life. She knows you best and its better to tell her and get it off your chest what happened and to see how she reacts sooner then later.
i think it would be easier to face my mom if i were in the situation because ive spent more time with her and she understands me better plus it would be easier to tell her everything cause i have to live with her though it seems like alex might choose laurie because most parents have alien like feelings compared to the average teens feelings. stuff parents think is important teenagers dont and visa versa
If i was Alex i would want to face laurie because it would be heart breaking to see the one you love the most after a stupid stunt. Also laurie seems like a person that might be more understanding.
i would prefer to face laurie because if i was suddenly scared of laurie i could make the decision of wether or not i want to be around her or not. where as, if i faced his mom, then there is no going back if i get scared!
I would face his mom because she is more wise and knows more than laurie does. She has seen more than alex ever will.

If i was Alex i would rather face his mouther because she knows what shes doing and how to mack sure thathe wont ever do it agin by scaring him to death and how to get him to relise what he did to the severnessthat it is and could have been.Lourie would have just listened and said what she thought was the right thing to do but shes not his mouther so shes dosent know whats best for him.
probably laurie just cause moms are prety mean and laurie sounds funner to be around
i would rather want to face Laurie cause his mom would get mad and ground him but Laurie would just give me a hard time. she cant do anything to me

If I was Alex in this situation I would rather face Laurie cause she doesnt seem to hold grudges as long as mom does.

If i were Alex, i would rather face Laurie. Laurie is a best friend instead of a mother. it seems easier to talk to friends more then parents, sometimes i think it's easier to friends because we don't want to be embarrassed by our parents when we tell them our mistakes because we are afraid of faliure and dissapointment expressions from them. Laurie also seems understanding. Sure, she will yell when you tell her what you did wrong, but look on the bright side, she DOES care for him. But i'm not saying Alex should never confront his mom.
If I was ALex, I would rather face Laurie because you could talk to you better, without her grounding you or anything. She could help you through the tough times and give you advice.
i think that alex is afraid of laurie and knows shes not about to let this go under the fence

If i was ALex probably Laurie, because she is more understanding of what is going on in his life, also when he told Laurie his reasons for doing what he had done i bet she would be a lot more accepting then Alex's mom.

I think I would rather face Laurie because it would be easier in a way because she is just a friend and she doesn't make the rules where as his mother does so with facing Laurie there wouldn't be punishment.
THATS A HARD DESION! BUT I WOULD RATHER ..TELL LAWRIE FACE TO FACE BECAUSE ALEX TELLS HER STUFF LIKE HIS FEELINGS ABOUT WHAT HIS PARENTS ARE DOING AND WHAT HE THINKS. BUT TO HIS MOM HE REALLY DOESN'T EXSPRESS THOSE FEELINGS TWARDS HER HE MAY KEEP THOSE IN SO THEREFORE SHE WOULDNT HAVE A GOOD UNDERSTANDING AS IN WHY HE WOULD DO THAT!
alex has a good friend and i can tell because laurie yells at him and confronts him when she hears that he dose something wrong
probably alexs mom reason being is that laurie is like a friehgt train on the fritz when she gets mad thers no stopping her just dont get hit.
If i was Alex i would rather face Laurie. Why? Because of the simple facy that ahe is his best friend and if she was a good friend she would understand.However she does have the wright to worry about Alex also.

I would rather have to face his mom because to me, it seems that even Alex is scared of Laurie and that scares me. But what do I know? I am the one that scares most people.

I would much rather face laurie because the worst she could do is throw a few punches and a few insults but after a while be over it. Alex's mom however is hurt emtionally and it's very hard to confront an emotionally pained, it hurts very much to see a mother cry.

i would rather face laurie, because all alex's mom does is yell and scream and hit him and doesn't seem to care as much as laurie does. i would rather face laurie because she is supportive and helpful. and yes she yells but she is still concerned.
I would rather face Laurie because he doesn't live with her so he can get away from it. Plus his mom is being controlling. She is supervising him all the time. Laurie just tells him how stupid he was.

i think the author, mr. s, is very good to make Laurie how she is- goth pixie and very skinny. she is in the right place to do and say things to Alex like that. he is a very true dork-wit

If any thing I would not talk to either of them because I would know that they would probably smack me or call me a dumb piece of !@#$ every time I brought up the accident. I would much rather stay home and talk to a nice calm pillow.
